It’s ridiculous! Sexual consent expert says you should ask your baby’s permission to change diaper.

Just when I think it doesn’t get any more ridiculous, the world finds a way. In Australia, an organization is explaining that parents should teach their children about consent as early as possible.

“‘I’m going to change your nappy now, is that OK?’ Of course a baby’s not going to respond ‘yes mum, that’s awesome I’d love to have my nappy changed’.”But if you leave a space and wait for body language and wait to make eye contact then you’re letting that child know that their response matters,” she said.” (source Newsweek)

This is dumb. You’re a parent. You’re providing your child with assistance since they obviously don’t know how to change themselves. If anything, this is conveying a message to your child that you’ll always do what they say. That’s not how the parent/ child dynamic works.

I’ll humor this idea for a second though. Ok, how long should I wait for eye contact? If the kid doesn’t make eye contact, do I just let him/her sit in their own filth? In that case, everyone should invest in a ton of those tree shaped car air fresheners to shove down his/her pants.

Fine Alex! You won’t make eye contact. You get cinnamon apple today!

Why stop at children. This should apply to changing the elderly too. lol I would love to see how that would go over. They won’t learn anything from it, but they’re still people. You should need consent from them too.

Parents should obviously be teaching their children lessons. This is too extreme though. These are probably the same kind of people who think circumcision is an act of violence. Your kid will be fine! Now, go change that damn diaper!
