Let’s watch and talk about the trailer for The Nun

I’m glad this movie is finally coming! I feel like we have been teased throughout the series too much. Let’s do it already! As the fifth film in The Conjuring series, The Nun takes place in 1952 Romania. It’s the earliest set film in the series. See below video for impression.

I’m not sure why this trailer starts off with “make sure you watch this until the end.” I mean, I was planning on it anyway. haha Why are they telling me? I’m pretty sure I didn’t miss anything. Anyway, even though this film doesn’t involve Ed & Lorraine Warren, I expect it to make a connection with them. After all, Ed did paint her and Lorraine was aware of her. This sister (sister Irene) appears to be experiencing something similar. She’s probably somehow distantly related to Lorraine. The creepy nun Valak looks as creepy as ever. She’s obviously been around for quite sometime since she’s been teased throughout The Conjuring timeline.

This being a teaser, we still don’t have a lot to go off of. I really hope the payoff is good! They have been teasing Valak for so long. As a result, my expections are a little higher than most of the films in this series. I expect this character to be something really cool, & thought out.

I’m also a fan of James Wan. Even though he didn’t direct this film, he does get a credit for “story by.” While how much imput he had in the screenplay itself is unknown, I have faith. I’m very much looking forward to seeing this on September 7th!
