This country is filled with a bunch of stupid laws. These laws are called Blue Laws. For whatever reason they haven’t been taken off the books, but are never enforced. I figured I would go state by state and talk about some of the dumbest laws that each has to offer in its cities and towns. We will start with Massachusetts.
Massachusetts seems to have quite a few strange laws on the books regarding bathing. It is illegal to go to bed without first having a full bath. In Boston, no more than two baths may be taken within the confines of the city & taking a bath on a Sunday is prohibited. None of this matters anyway because no one may take a bath without a prescription first. I always thought of Boston as a clean city compared to most, but apparently they must have wanted the people to be smelly and not practice basic hygiene.
Do you hate someone so bad that you wish you could have a duel to the death? Well, it’s possible. Duels to the death are permitted on the common on Sundays provided that the governor is present. No mention if the duel involves guns or swords.
Someone in North Andover must have been planning for the future. According to a law in their books, an ordinance prohibits the use of space guns. Or maybe the person who passed this ordinance was a time traveler and knew this would be a problem in the future! One day people will be disintegrating each other with space guns, because laws haven’t been passed banishing them yet. Not in good old North Andover though. The safest town of the future!
If you live in Newton, you should harass your officials. Apparently, all families must be given a hog from the towns mayor. That’s some potential good meat!
Owning a gun in Mass requires permits, but people in Marlborough Mass have it really rough. It is illegal to buy, sell or possess a squirt gun. Silly string is also illegal in the city limits.
