I bet law enforcement departments all over the country will be excited when this little gem hits the streets. A Minnesota company has invented a .380 caliber pistol that folds up to look like a smartphone.
This gun was created so that people who have a license to conceal can buy it and no longer need to worry about being stared at in public if someone notices it. Ok, I get that. You don’t want to draw attention. As for it ending up in the hands of children, I also heavily agree with the following statement….. “In America, we have lots of children in contact with pistols already. There’s been quite a few incidents long before my product came along,” he said. “For me, it’s not the gun. It’s the people. So if you have a pistol and you have children anywhere near you, it’s your responsibility to lock that stuff up and keep it away from children.” I couldn’t agree more.Those concerns aside, the gun design still creates more concerns than solutions.
The media already has a field day when a police officer opens fire on someone under questionable circumstances. What happens when someone gets killed for simply reaching for a cell phone to quickly, or a police officer gets shot by someone because he thought the device was in fact a real cellphone? (source)
Look, I am all for people having a license to carry a concealed firearm. So keep it concealed. Of course, someone might stare at you if they notice it. Who cares! Let them. You have a fucking gun! In this day and age we need to be more alert. Your choosing to exercise your right & they are just being aware. A gun should look like a gun, because its a fucking gun!
